Where it all started
I have always loved singing and music from a young age. As a child, I would often put on shows in the front room for my parents and their friends. My mum encouraged this love I had for performing, and took me to acting and dance lessons, where I developed a love for musical theatre. I enjoy all aspects of the performing arts, but have always had such a strong passion for singing.

When I was 14, my mum's friend heard me singing and asked where I'd learnt to sing like that. I was very pleased with this compliment, never previously having had a singing lesson. When she heard this, she was surprised and, for my 15th birthday, bought me a set of 6 singing lessons.
I was so excited, and these lessons quickly became my favourite part of the week. I continued with my singing teacher for just over a year before she decided to move back to her home country of Canada. She was truly an amazing teacher. I had so much fun learning in these lessons. I am now a part-time singing teacher myself (when I'm not performing gigs). I have always looked up to my first singing teacher and aspire to teach my students in the same engaging and supportive way that she taught me. She inspired me to take the leap and start a career doing what I love, something I am forever grateful to her for.

After I finished school, I studied for a Musical Theatre Extended Diploma at Guildford College. Here, my love for the performing arts grew. It was a wonderful course that allowed me to practice my performing skills across singing, acting and dance as well as learning about the industry. I gained a lot of practical experience performing in many shows. My favourite being when I was cast as 'the leading player' in the musical Pippin - I loved this as it was my first lead role and involved lots of singing!
As well as performing, I gained valuable experience in backstage roles. I applied for and was offered the off-stage role of 'Vocal Captain' where I composed and taught harmonies, lead vocal warmups and ran musical rehearsals. I also have a passion for songwriting and wrote a song as part of my Final Major Project, which I recorded and taught to my peers, who performed it in the musical. I graduated from this two-year course with Distinction.

During my college years, I began busking in the Surrey area. This was a truly significant experience for me. I see busking as a great way to practice performing and to overcome any performance nerves, something I used to experience. Once I had been a few times, it made me realise that, if I could sing in front of strangers walking by, I didn't need to be nervous when singing at gigs. Busking massively helped me grow my confidence, whilst building up a long set list of songs and even got me gigs and amazing collaboration opportunities. I would highly recommend busking to every musician, whether just starting or having been performing for years.

After College, I moved to West Sussex to study a BMus - vocal performance degree at the University of Chichester. I am currently still studying in my 4th and final year of this course, which I am doing whilst also teaching singing lessons and gigging.

I have been singing professionally for over five years now. I perform as a soloist and as part of my acoustic duo at numerous weddings and events. Over this time, I have built a long set list of songs and have become very good at reading the room at each event and knowing which songs will go down well. I think it's important to communicate about the music you would like, so I will always do my best to ask all the questions to understand the atmosphere you're wanting to create, whether that's gentle background music or full party classics to get everyone dancing, or a mix of both throughout the event.

I sing a range of genres including Acoustic, Pop, Rock, Country, Folk, Jazz and Musical Theatre. I specialise in the genres of Acoustic, Pop/Rock and Country. If you'd like to see the songs on my set, please take a look at my repertoire page. If there's a specific song you'd like that's not on there, I'm very happy to learn requests. Just send me a message.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Eleanor Xx
